The Karnataka state award for 2008-2009 would be given away at Kormangala Indoor stadium on 21st Saturday evening in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa.

KSR Doss is receiving the doyen SR Puttanna Kanagal award of Rs.2 lakh cash, trophy and garland on the day of awards presentation. He has been communicated with a letter by the government of Karnataka.

The cabinet colleagues of Karnataka minister will be present at the annual awards for 2008-2009. Noted director HR Bhargava was the chairman of the selection committee.

Senior Journalist Babu Dinakara, D Rajendra Babu, KV Raju, HN Maruthi, Banandur Kempaiah, Rajesh senior actor, cameraman BS Basavaraj and Sujatha Paramashivaiah are the other members of the committee announced in the end of June 2010.

The veteran director D Rajendra Babu and Banandur Kempaiah did not turn up for the committee. Only seven member panel looked in to the awards in a month time.
